Just shipped: Rental income now automatically terminates at planned sale age
Small but important update. One of the most common pain points in FIRE planning with rental properties is that most tools model the income stream and the property sale as two completely disconnected events. You sell the property but the rental income keeps running in your projections forever unless you manually delete it. That gap is now fixed in FIRE Terminal. Each rental income source now has a "Planned sale age" field. Set it once and the rental income automatically terminates at that age across: - Main projections - Bucket model - Monte Carlo simulations (all 1,000 runs) No manual cleanup. No separate steps. Just set the age and your projections update automatically. This came directly from real user feedback.
Example workflow:
- Go to Settings → Income Sources → "Maple Street Rental" (type: Rental)
- Set Monthly Net: $1,800
- Set Planned sale age: 50
- Save
Projections will now show $26,400/yr less portfolio draw from your FIRE age until 50, then full draws resume at 50. Monte Carlo will correctly model the termination across all simulations. No other steps needed — the property sale milestone still captures the net proceeds separately, check it out in the demo at https://fireterminal.io 🔥
