Has anyone actually managed to get REFramework's UI / DX12 hooking working on CrossOver/D3DMetal?

I’m currently playing Resident Evil 9 on an M3 Pro MacBook via CrossOver (using D3DMetal). The base game runs perfectly, but I'm running into a wall trying to install a specific mod that relies on loose files in the natives folder. To load loose files, the mod requires REFramework. However, the moment I place dinput8.dll into the game directory, the game fatally crashes on startup.

What I have already tried:

  1. Removed all Upscaler/DLSS mods: I know Mac doesn't have Tensor Cores. I've completely deleted all DLL proxies, _storage_ folders, dxgi.dll, and nvngx_dlss.dll files. The folder is completely clean.
  2. Used the latest Nightly Build: I downloaded the absolute latest nightly build from Praydog's GitHub Actions. Still getting the exact same DX12 crash.
  3. Library Overrides in Winecfg: Confirmed dinput8 is set to (Native, Builtin).
  4. If I delete dinput8.dll, the game launches flawlessly, but obviously, the loose files in the natives folder aren't loaded.

Are there any specific launch arguments or winecfg tweaks I missed?
