sad thoughts about sufjan

I don't remember who told me this, but Sufjan Stevens was married to a man. He never publically talked about it, and it wasn't even known until his husband died. I don't pretend to understand their reasoning for hiding or avoiding knowledge of their relationship to the public, and I never will. I've just been thinking about it for the past few days. I see myself in him, and mourn a relationship that hasn't, and maybe never will, happened. I see myself in him, and imagine myself making similar choices for my own reasons.

In any case, to all the people of the world, I hope we all get the chance to keep our love a secret, whilst maintaining our relationship known.
