Best strategy for removing Byzantine corruption privileges?

Haven’t touch the game in probably 2 months before the DLC dropped, and after 6 tries I finally got a good start going. Just hit 1360, have 53 communalism, nobles specifically are at 76% equilibrium, and I can crank Thema to drop their power but the cost to remove their corruption is still 126 stability. Burgers and church are manageable but I’m struggling to find a good strategy to remove this one specifically without destroying my country at this point. Am I too early? Do I have to just eat the cost once I can build enough stability? Side note if it matters: succession crisis is gone, fate of the phoenix is still active (I have the provinces needed but I got my levies wiped by a morale bug and so war is slow) rise of the Turks active, and have a small but stable economy so far.
