Seriously question: Why do gamers want things to fail?
With the recent release of Mixtape, I've discovered so much hate and vitriol in the gaming community. It reminds me a few months ago with the "controversy" around Highborn. Why is the gaming community filled with so much negativity? Why do gamers want things to fail? Typically if I see a game I'm not interested in, I move on. I've never went to review bomb a Call of Duty game that I've never played. It's been prevalent a long time but this year feels especially off putting. Nearly every big release has these hate campaigns behind it: Marathon, Pragmata had some weird controversy, even Saros. Why? I've been playing since the NES and have many great memories tied to video games. I never remember it being this bad. Maybe it's just the rise of the internet and social media. Video games are a hobby that's meant to be enjoyed.
