have there always been helix keys on awaji?

i completed awaji very thoroughly soon after release, and i return occasionally to complete anomalies, but yesterday i randomly stumbled upon a key and then i looked up a map and discovered there’s like 15 of them. did they add them later or did i just somehow miss all of them until now?
