I’m convinced that I met my late father in my dream

I’m sorry for my English, it’s not my first language.

It’s probably been about 3 or 4 years since I had this dream. It was one of my many weird dreams, but this time it was different. To make things clear, my dreams are usually chaotic and don’t make any sense, but that wasn’t the case with this one.

The dream starts with me waking up on a bus, but we were already parked in a parking lot. When I got off the bus, I was at a bus station that felt way too familiar. I travel from there every day. But when I looked at the place where buses normally park, there was an airplane runway there instead, with a forest around it, basically just a long dusty path.

I started walking down it because, well, what else was I supposed to do? After a while I reached a crossroads and saw a car approaching. I knew very well that I wasn’t supposed to be there, so I hid in a nearby bush. I looked at the car driving past and there were soldiers inside, but they weren’t the only ones there. One or two soldiers were hiding in the bush with me.

Somehow I had ended up in a war zone. Then I looked at one of the soldiers beside me… and I’m not kidding when I say that my father was there, looking at me. His eyes were full of panic, and he looked just as shocked as I was. Personally, I wouldn’t say it was a lucid dream, but everything felt so real. He looked at me and I looked at him, we both knew who the other was, and we both knew that I wasn’t supposed to be there.

I couldn’t bring myself to speak to him at first. But eventually I talked to him as if he were my advisor, like he was my mentor. He helped me say the things that were weighing on me the most at that time, and he seemed happy that he could hear me.

But before I had the chance to say goodbye, my mind pulled me into another dream, and that’s where the dream ends.

(PS: I had paranormal things happen to me after his death, but this dream will stay in my heart forever.)
