Primary complaint: Reddish/orange transparent discharge 9 days after surgery.

Duration: Started today after hospital discharge and first home nasal rinse.

Existing medical issues: Nasal septal perforation closure (sandwich technique with splints) and septoplasty.

Current medications: Levomekol ointment, Methyluracil ointment, Dolphin nasal rinse (saline) - Registered three times a day (10 days)

Drink/Smoke/Drugs: No.

I am 9 days post-op. During the first few days in the hospital, I had red discharge, mostly from the left nostril. Then it turned more orange. Doctors at the clinic performed nasal rinses several times, and it stayed orange-no red appeared after those rinses.

Today I was discharged. After my first home rinse with Dolphin (I was gentle, not too much pressure), I noticed reddish-orange discharge again. I've noticed that it leaks more actively when I move my mouth, especially while eating. It only comes from the left nostril, which has a splint with a breathing tube. The right one is dry.

My temperature is 36.8°C (98.2°F). No severe pain. Is it normal for this reddish color to return after discharge and to worsen during eating/jaw movement? How long should I expect this to last?

17F, 9 days post-op: septoplasty and nasal perforation closure. Reddish-orange discharge from one nostril. Is this normal?
