I had demineralization/discoloration ever since my front tooth erupted and when I was a teenager I had a repair done where they shaved off part of the lower tooth and filled it with composite and it looked great, it kept my natural tooth shape and lasted for 7 years!  
The discoloration spot has recently become more apparent and so I went in to a new dentist (my previous dentist actually passed away and the office is no longer there, otherwise I would've loved to go to them  
I explained the procedure to my new dentist and that's what I thought he would do again but instead he covered the whole tooth. At first it was a bit longer and way more square so I had him round it out and shave it down. But I still hate it, it just doesn't look right and I've never been so upset over dental work. I scheduled another appointment this upcoming Saturday and I'm so anxious about it, I'm the type of person that won't even send food back if I get the wrong order, I hate correcting people's mistakes. But this is something I have to live with for years and it just doesn't feel right. I don't know how to even begin to explain what I don't like so I guess I'm going to Reddit to see what strangers have to say about it and what they think needs to be fixed.
