How often if ever do you take a class?
It has been about 7 years since I fired my P224 DAK (it’s a better gun than usually thought of). The other day I bought a used M&P .40. So it was really time for training.
I had about 200 rounds through it at a range, and I really sucked so it was time to find out why.
A local NRA Certified trainer is charging me about $25 per hour for solo classes. Totally worth it. Today’s class I concentrated on left handed shooting, two and single handed I nailed it. I have never shot with my left hand before. Shot a mag right handed, nailed it.
The trainer has fixed some poor mechanics, the feedback improved my shooting, from barely defensive to that’s going to really sting.
Ammo for both the P224 and M&P .40 with an Ed Brown barrel was Underwood .357 124 gr. XTPs.
Anyone in their right mind is thinking why would I buy a P224 DAK? It was my New Orleans toolbox gun. In a marginal place at 2AM cell site, I locked myself inside a chain link fence and put it on the equipment. New in .40 I also bought the .357 Sig barrel for 90 bucks.
