Student applicant, parents sponsoring, proof of funds question

Question

I am planning to apply for a Schengen (C) visa as a student and I could use some feedback.

I don't have personal income. My parents will cover everything and can provide their bank statements (6-12 months), tax stuff, and a notarized (if required, but not sure) sponsorship letter. My own account just has small student transactions.

Wondering if anyone here applied in a similar setup? Did the consulate accept your parents financials plus the sponsorship letter, or did they want to see the money in your own account? And if you did transfer money to your own account before applying, how early did you do it? Also I am thinking a large one time deposit into my account right before applying may raise suspicions, am I correct?

P.S.: I hold a German National Visa and I've been to Schengen area multiple times with my previous passport since it had visa free travel to Schengen area but my current ordinary passport does not. I am planning to submit all my travels in my previous passport since most countries require it anyway.
