Hopelessness for future dating now that I'm moving
I (27F) have never been in a relationship and I really struggle to form connections at all. Whenever I do try to meet people on apps, it is hard for me to get past the feeling of indifference. I also really struggle with being hit on. My initial reaction is always to stonewall until the person gets uncomfortable and walks away. The only times I've been able to develop feelings is when I have become friends with the person first without feeling like he was trying to start something romantic with me.
Due to a series of difficulties at work, I now have to move somewhere an hour and a half from the city I grew up in. I tried to get a job in that city but unfortunately, it didn't work out. I am not a rural small town type. I don't even wanna live in the suburbs directly outside of a city but this is my reality I guess. I had been planning (or I guess hoping) to try and go out more/meet new people once I had moved back to a city but now I am moving to another rural area.
Idk what to do. I don't wanna try and date people who have chosen the small town life. I don't even really wanna spend any extra time there that I don't have to but I think it would be hard to find someone out there who prefers cities. I also know I struggle more with dating than most people and this is just putting me at a greater disadvantage. I just feel hopeless. I feel genuinely incapable of getting into a relationship.
