Forearm vs bicep placement for first tattoo going into IT?

tattoo newcomer advice

Hi everyone! I recently turned 18 and I have my first tattoo planned for this weekend. This is a throwaway-ish account since I have family who browses reddit and I don’t want this to be tied to me. But I am getting a tattoo from the video game “Life is Strange”, since playing it in 2020, it has drastically changed my life and my perspective on things with the themes of chaos theory and butterfly effect. I am getting the rewind symbol from the game which appears when max is rewinding time. For me this represents how my choices are final and I, a normal person, can’t rewind time. My choices are final.

I wanted it on my forearm so I could see it. It’s always there, reminding me. But my parents who are buying the tattoo for me, really want me to change spots. I am planning on going into IT but they think that this tattoo will be a job killer, that I will find a very hard time getting jobs, and that I will regret it. My dad is covered in tattoos but none visible unless he has his art up or short clothes.

Before I took this advice and moved on, but they spun another offer. This is going to sound insane, but they offered me 1000 to move it to my bicep. Yes, 1000. And laser treatment if I regret it. And this is a serious offer too. They care that much. The offer has made me really question if this is the right choice. The design is to me, even if they don’t like it, but the placement. I can move it to lower inner bicep on my left arm (or right) and still see it here and there, just get it a little smaller. Or I keep the inner right forearm, potentially lose jobs, and maybe regret it someday(?).

I am not sure what to do at this point. Stay with the forearm? Delay? Move it? I am curious on what you all think.
