Should I pursue this career path?

Hello all! I am writing here because I have some questions about this career and I'm wondering if it would be worth getting certified. I have a biology degree with an emphasis in ecology and a masters degree in biological data science. My background/interests are mostly in environmental restoration/environmental science, but I have been struggling to find a career in my field (or something I find interesting at least) since graduating about a year ago and stumbled upon the ODS career, which I find to be very interesting. I do not have a healthcare background, but I am familiar with a range of other science related and health topics and I am familiar with working with different kinds of data sets. I was thinking about doing the AHIMA courses and getting certified that way, but I have some fears that I won't find a job after. I have been doing some research about job outlook and such but I keep finding conflicting answers and I have seen a few people who have gotten certified but cannot find work, even after a year of searching. I also have seen people talk about getting job experience/hired before getting certified, and was wondering how to do that too. I don't want to waste my time and money taking the course if at the end I'll be in the same position I am in (can't find a job because I don't have the right experience/background). Do you think its a good idea to pursue this career? Are there any kinds of internships or part time jobs available before or when I'm taking the course. Also, it also seems like networking and knowing the right people is how to get a job, is that true and if so how do i go about that? Thank you!
