Something I appreciated in the final episode this latest rewatch...

Spoiler

I absolutely loved how at the start Daniels is on a self-righteous rant about how McNulty, Freamon, and Sydnor and anyone else involved in the fake killings and illegal wiretap should be terminated from the department and indicted, yet later in the same episode he's faced with Burrell's files which should've terminated and indicted him from the department before the show even began. Then Pearlman commits extortion herself in the same episode. I guess crime is okay if it suits your best interests or what you see as the "greater good", but when McNulty and Freamon make clowns of the department and city hall, it's a no-no.

I just love how basically no one is clean from the system by the end of this and almost everyone is a hypocrite at some point. Truly gets better every time I watch it. I'll miss it. Until the next rewatch...
