Looking for opinions

I recently purchased and started this as a Viking. I ended up doing a whirlwind Viking and it’s felt pretty smooth going into Hell 1.
Does the class hit a ton of difficulty when well geared?
I seem to only did to cursed ground and death effects at the moment,but figured maybe higher scaling would slap me. Is it uber viable or is it worth rolling a new character if I wanna push higher?
