What happened to the play area inside Krakatau at Volcano Bay?

I went to Volcano Bay for the second time ever about a month ago. The first time I went to Volcano Bay was back during the TapuTapu days and one thing that I have a particularly fond memory of from that first visit was stumbling onto the little splash pad inside the volcano without prior knowledge to that little hidden spot. I can't remember if it used TapuTapu to activate or not, but I remember there being lights and maybe some music and a bunch of water shooting up from the floor. Yet, when I returned last month, this feature was gone. I noticed a button (in place of TapuTapu) near a volcano entrance blasted you with air when pressed, but I didn't see anything to activate the splash area.

So, did they remove this permanently or was it just off that day? If it's gone for good, was this a casualty of removing TapuTapu? It was such a small feature of the park but it was one of the things that stuck with me the most and it's a shame that it is gone.
