How hard is this game to learn for a new(ish) player?

Played waaay back and had to relearn a lot of the rules of the game but link and pendelum summoning are something else.
Very flashy but also confusing since the game is very swarm-y?

Also any tips on what to focus on greatly appreciated 🫡
