How can I (21F) Deconstruct my thoughts on gender roles with my (25M) boyfriend?

Recently, after a joke made by my boyfriend about the fact I am stronger than what I claim, I have noticed I have this subconscious way of thinking I have, that had gone unnoticed until now. This is my first relationship with a man, and all my life I was surrounded by as well as being in more traditional households.

I find myself expecting that he carry all the heavy things, he helps fix things like my car, expecting him to pay for the dates (not that I haven’t paid for a single one before, I have), that he build the furniture, etc. I caught myself getting irritated at him not just making the decisions and instead asking for my input- such as where to park, where we should eat, etc. The specific thought that crossed my mind was “Isn't he supposed to take lead?” And I realize that this is problematic, and I want to fix this!

So here I am, asking you all for advice. Has anyone else struggled with this before? And how can I dismantle it?

TLDR: How can I deconstruct my thoughts of gender roles in my relationship?
