General VMF clerk question

Hi folks,

I read all the FAQs and did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

It's the 710 exam what I would be looking to take for the general VMF clerk position?

Is this exam also attached to open season in March?

If not, is there a way to take the exam to at least get a score on record even if I haven't found any open spots yet?

I'm a PTF window clerk trying to transfer many states away, been at my office for 2 years, so that requirement is at least filled. Just thought it might be beneficial to take the exam before my transfer goes through so I'll have one less thing to worry about once I move.
