Anyone with a remote (abroad) UK post doc position?

My current supervisor has a post doc position for me in the UK. However, my parent has become diagnosed with dementia and I would like to move back home (in the EU) so that I can spend as much time with them as possible. Work wise I don't think my supervisor has any issues with this because all the work we do is online and I basically work remotely 90% of the time. I'm only worried about the tax issue making it a dealbreaker. Has anyone got a post doc position in the UK that's remote abroad and was there any issues about the tax or were they ok with it?
