Why I believe the Wizards should potentially trade down for Darryn Peterson

disclaimer: this is on the assumption that DP's medical tests come back okay and the front office likes DP's attitude after interviews.

Darryn Peterson has an amazing repertoire of skills needed for a guard. he can score at a high level both on and off the ball, he plays great defense and can guard positions 1-4 with his approx 6'10 wingspan and he showed great promise as a playmaker in highschool. The odds of him busting, injury and personality concerns aside, are very very slim.

on the other hand Dyabantsa is a beast athletically. however there definitely are some question marks regarding his defense, shot diet (will his style of play work against elite defenses), off ball creation and 3pt shot. He could be a great player but he also shares traits with previously hyped up busts (he won't necessarily be a bust but it's something to watch)

in any case, imagine if the wizards could land a healthy Darryn Peterson and also net young talent like Ace Bailey and maybe future picks in exchange for Dyabantsa. this could end up being a massive fleece in favor of the Wizards.
