The monthly updates just didn't cut it and I'm glad Embark finally decides to take their time to actually develop some big exciting stuff.

Here you have it, the company themselves acknowledged that the monthly content update cycle is unhealthy for the games future. I'm sure once October rolls around, the game will feel like it's just launched and we'll have that feeling of discovery and adventure again.

In the meantime, go catch up on your game backlog, play some other exciting titles that get released in the coming months and try to not get burnt out on ARC whilest waiting. It's okay to leave for a while - we all know when the new content comes out now - October, presumably the end of the month.
