Alternatives to Day Camps?

I have a 6-year-old and 9-year-old (in July) and cannot afford $600+/week for day camps. Depending on the day, I need to be at work at either 8:45 or 7:45am, so the Park n Play thing won’t work for me. It seems like dayhomes tend to only take kids under 6. I don’t have family here that’s able to help.

They’re currently in before care (which is also killing me financially) and they don’t offer affordable summer programs.

I was previously working part-time in retail, so I’d go to work when my partner got home - no childcare needed, but I was working evenings and most weekends. No time with my family.

There’s gotta be people in a similar situation… What are you folks doing with your kids over the summer?
