Career path change - midlife crisis? 🥴
I was in the corporate world for over 5 years and they were some of the most stressful, but best times of my life. My bosses admired my work and would make comments about me becoming a CEO or possibly owner of my own business someday. I’m a very dedicated and passionate person. I gave up the corporate life (voluntarily) when I became a mommy and now it feels like this is my biggest purpose in life. My “best times” before don’t come anywhere close to comparing to life as a mom. Now I’m 3 years postpartum and questioning my career path going forward. I’ve been in childcare since my baby was born so I can earn money but also be here for my child. However that also comes with some hard pills to swallow: sickness multiple times a year, less people having babies, more parents staying home with their littles, etc. so enrollment rates are down and I’m questioning if this is still best for my family. I’m curious what works for other families where both parents have to work - unfortunately being a SAHM isn’t feasible for me, otherwise I’d choose that in a heartbeat.
Should I continue childcare & just lower prices and maybe extend hours? Be miserable and have less freedom/time with my family.
Do I find a night job and just have to get through the days with my baby - maybe a little sleep deprived?
Do I put my baby in childcare & return to corporate world? - not sure I’m ready for this one. I’ve been home with her since day one 🥺
Or do I find a new partner who can pay all the bills & make me a SAHM? (Totally joking 😂😂)
I appreciate any help/advice you can offer. Or even WFH jobs that are very flexible/make your own hours. Or even side hustles that pay bills. 💸
