I didnt realize how much my stuff was actually holding me back
I recently tried the KonMari method after feeling overwhelmed in my own space even though nothing looked too messy on the surface.
Instead of rushing into cleaning everything I followed the category order and started with clothes. What surprised me was how many items I was keeping just because they were fine or maybe useful someday. Holding each item and actually pausing to feel if it brought me any real joy made the process slower than usual decluttering but much more honest.
I didnt just focus on getting rid of things. I tried to understand why I had so much unnecessary clutter in the first place. A lot of it came from guilt overthinking or attachment to old versions of myself.
Compared to other methods Ive tried this one felt more intentional and emotional rather than just practical. It wasnt about having a cleaner room instantly but about resetting my relationship with my belongings.
One thing I learned is that keeping everything safe was actually making my space feel heavier not secure. Once I started letting go of things without guilt my room slowly started feeling more like a place I actually want to be in.
Now my space feels lighter but more importantly my mind does too.
