Anyone else realize they barely drive enough to justify owning a car?

I’ve been going back and forth on buying a car lately and the more I think about it the less straightforward the decision feels.

At first I was convinced I needed one. I was browsing listings almost every night and already thinking about what I would get but then I started paying attention to how often I actually drive during a normal week and now I’m second guessing the whole thing.

Some weeks I’m out constantly and having a car would make life way easier. Other weeks the car would probably just sit parked most of the time while I’m still paying insurance, maintenance, registration, parking, and eventually dealing with selling it later on.

That’s the part I didn’t really think about before the actual ownership side outside of just buying the car.

I also know people who rushed into buying because they hated relying on rides all the time, then later realized they weren’t using the car nearly as much as expected.

Feels like owning a car used to be a much simpler decision when routines were more predictable now it feels way more dependent on lifestyle and how often you realistically move around day to day.

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I didn’t expect usage alone to completely change how I look at ownership.
