“Your f/o would hate you!”
…is such a sad thing to say to someone. It usually comes from a place of jealousy but even then just… block and ignore??? If you are jealous of me then you don’t have to interact!!!! Why would you purposely look at things that make you miserable??
Also how do you know he’d hate me…….. did you ask him lmao. “he wouldn’t date you, he’d date me” well good thing he isn’t real, or else we’d be in a pickle huh?? “you mischaracterize him! he’d never do that!” thank god the fictional character can’t see it then, phew!!!!!
It’s always the people who market themselves as “wholesome” and “positive” and “accepting” too… except when it comes to something that they personally don’t like. Fiction is a coping mechanism for a lot of people of different backgrounds, why are you trying to protect a person that’s not real while also sending threats and death wishes to the actual person behind the screen?? It’s fiction. Fiction means not real. What makes fiction fun is that it isn’t real…
Like you’re allowed to be jealous! It’s okay to admit that!!! But denying it and then going out and attacking people over it is crazy!!! Like you can say my f/o hates me all you want but I doubt YOUR f/o would be very happy with you telling a stranger that they’re invalid and deserve their abuse because you can’t love yourself enough so you have to rely on a fictional character to do it for you!!!!!!
We are all lonely to some extent. Fiction helps us all, but what is truly harmful is treating that character like they’re real only to rain on someone else’s fun. You can treat a character like they’re real without invalidating someone else’s trauma. Just leave people alone man……….
