Competent cell troubles

Hi all,

My lab struggles with competent for a while now. We are using CaCl2 and XL10-Gold, and worked like a charm for ages. However, in the last couple of months the cells loose competence after a couple of days, max a week. We have a slow growing bacteria, that’s okayish.

What could be the reason ?
