New wheel for Moza R5, does it need a QR or not

Hello everyone,

i recently bought a Moza R5, and already eant to buy a drift wheel to go with it. I‘ve read that you don’t need to buy the moza QR if you just want the wheel to do what a wheel does. You buy a QR if you want the buttons to work ?

Or is this completely wrong?

Sidenote, does anyone have recommendations for a simple deep dish? Thank you in advance.
