Skin irritation from adhesive plasters
Hello everyone, we have twin girls who are now almost three years old. One of the girls was born with heart defects and required surgery at 6 months. As a result she was fed via a nasogastric tube for those first 6 months. This was stuck onto her cheek with adhesive plasters and as you can imagine these needed to be changed regularly due to her pulling them off, her sister pulling them off, or her getting them wet or dirty etc. Consequently the skin on her cheeks became very inflamed. Following her surgery, she no longer needed the tube and her skin improved. However, we are now 2 and a half years down the line and the skin on her cheeks, despite moisturiser, zinc creams and some medicated creams, has never really improved. Our next stop is the dermatologist, but I thought I would first come to Reddit for some advice. If you have any experience with this, did you find anything that worked? Thanks
