I havequestions for zero mission and the bomb jump

So I recently got a switch 2 and wanted to get into metroid which I haven't played before. As recommended I started with the zero mission. Now I left brinestar and there is a section were it seems that you can only get up with the bomb jump but I suck at it. Do I really need to go up there or should I explore other areas.
