First time trying shrooms, any advice?

Hi, I’m male 27 6’1” 190lb, want to do shrooms for the first time. Not sure what the good dosage for me is but I’m planning on doing only 1 gram maybe 1.5 .
I’ve read that you need to be ready and stuff like that but I also read that people had bad trips and never recovered, which might be totally BS. Anyway, any advice for me?
(Please don’t leave comments like “ don’t do it” or “ drug is bad” type of bs. )
