Basement Floor

So our basement floors are pitting in several spots, but always dry (we've owned the house for 2 years and the floors have never been wet and I'm so anxious about basements that i look every night). The previous owners attempted to paint idk how long ago and its flaky and crumbling and its just gross and i hate it.
MAIN ASK: What is the cheapest and easiest way to cover these floors so I don't dread going down there to do laundry?
