Is SSF worth it?

Semi-noob here. Playong since the launch, multiple characters leveled to 90+, but never went for end game bosses, because i get bored of farming currency for gear upgrades.

Thinking about starting a SSF but is it worth starting if i only have couple of hours to play a day? All drops are RNG, dont want to spend a week trying to get specific drop.

Anyways. People who prefer SSF over trade, why? And would you recommend it if I dont have whole day to play? Thanks!
