Requesting advice on professionalism at work

STIMS HARDER OUT OF SPITE

Unfortunately, I will soon be entering a work situation where professionalism is defined as appearing as neurotypical as possible. There are a lot of things for which I’m working to get accommodations, but right now my main concern is keeping my hands occupied. The thing that currently works best for me is drawing/doodling. I have tried several stim toys but none really replicate the combination of soothing motions and light cognitive/creative activity that I get from drawing. Without being able to draw, I usually have a hard time focusing on what other people are saying, not looking bored, and dealing with overstimulation. In my upcoming work situation, I know that drawing during meetings will come off as unprofessional and I will likely be written up for it. This situation is only for one year and I will be able to have more freedom in the future but the Hell Year is mandatory for advancement in my field.

Does anyone have any recommendations for activities that would keep my hands occupied during boring meeting but be less visible than drawing? Thank you in advance!
