Ranked Frustration

Consider this just me venting I guess. I’ve never played ranked in any shooter honestly. I’ve played since season 1 and just decided to give it a shot. Placement games were AWFUL (teammates leaving, players who were blatantly meant to be in way higher ranks, etc.) and I got the lowest possible rank of bronze 4. That was bad enough, but my first actual game I got stomped and had like, level 2 default teammates. I had a decent KD and I lost, LOST, Rs somehow despite already being the lowest rank. Is this how it is? Maybe I’m just bad at the game? It was super disheartening, I’ve never had this issue outside of ranked and thought I was okay at the game before now.
