Suggestion help with shield only tank warrior

Haven't played since launch, I'm wanting to build a tank warrior, using only a shield, I saw there was a shield dash ability I could use, and some passives for damage from my shields armor, I recently just got the iron ward spirit gem and am in love that it soaks up damage I'm blocking or reducing and clearing most normal and magic creatures in the area.

I mainly want to know if anyone has suggestions for how to increase the damage of iron ward, or other passives or items, stats I should focus on for this to take me through the story, I'd be hoping too much for it to get to any end game content but one can dream.

To clarify, I'm thinking lots of strength obviously, block chance and armor, and life Regen, I did put a support gem on my iron ward for increase crit chance for anything full health, but I'm not sure if I can increase that crit damage with passives or if there's a better way.

Any suggestions or ideas I'll look forward to look into
