Some of you might've seen yesterday I posted a big long perfect guide. I was GOING to add a spreadsheet to automate the whole thing and just finished it an hour before. Now it is useless.

1: What to do Pre-update

Add up your levels and evo+heros*5. if you are extremely close to one of the boundaries in the table below definitely upgrade, however if you aren't within 10 just leave it, as you are missing out on the level awards you will receive post-update.

If you want to Minmax then if you can level up before reaching a collection level that is a multiple of 10 then do that, as the rewards from leveling up will be removed so you're basically getting a chest/shard for free.

If your collection is above 1500 then the rule is the same but for a multiple of 5.

2: What to do Post-update

The requirement for max level towers is 14+ cards at level 15 or higher.

To get towers quickly, get your main deck to level 15 as soon as possible. Try NOT to upgrade anything past level 15 as the requirement means anything further provides 0 progress and is just really expensive, delaying when you max the towers. If you've been playing for long enough you likely will have a few cards with enough cards to upgrade all the way to level 15. I have made a DIFFERENT spreadsheet for that (paste and get rid of the space):

First make a copy for yourself of course before following below instructions.

Scroll right and put in the levels and the number of "cards" sitting inside of each card already. the sheet will check if any of your cards can already be upgraded to level 15 but you can also sort the table by "Card Gems left" smallest to biggest once it is complete to see if there is something that only needs a couple of gems to reach level 15. Don't sort by "cards left" as needing just 10 commons is a lot less than needing 10 champions.

Remember the column titled "cards to max" means cards needed to reach level 16. there are card values for every upgrade level on the right of this table so you can subtract to see if any happen to come close to level 15 already. just fill in the two columns on the table and all the other #VALUE! cells will sort themselves out.

After you max your towers the only thing left is to max your account and this sheet doubles as a tracker for your account progress. after putting in all the values it will calculate how far you are in card and gold progression in your account. I've played for 2 years and I'm already at 55.4% card progress but only at 33% gold progress.

if you just want to get levels and are not focusing on towers:

Do essentially the exact opposite of what my previous post was saying.

1: sort by level

2: sort by lowest first

3: spam upgrade until you run out of gold

its technically better to pick the hero in the next hero/evo passes. this is because the hero is worth +5 whereas for high level players the cards are only going to be enough for +1, and gold will likely be the limiting factor for levels anyway for many players since gold lucky drops have been nerfed so badly from previous updates.

Picking the hero is also better than the evolution shard as the hero progression outside of the full hero in the paid pass is much slower than the progression for a single evo, but if you don't have a pretty big collection of evos it doesn't really matter.

Final Tip for full maxing your account

Remember the 60 max card limit! try to only upgrade the 60 cards you need the most and wait until your gold is at max before splurging that way you spend as much time as possible outside of being able to get duplicates on your drops. you can still get dupes on literally every other drop in the game though, I have 14k and only 13 max cards because of it, its not a bug.

Good luck! Thankfully this new progression is a lot easier to reach max towers, you might already be maxed if you have played for two years as I will be once the update drops. This is a step in the right direction for sure.
