I tried 4 AI coding tools for 30 days here's the actual comparison
cursor + claude: slow but accurate. code works first try. context window issues but manageable with the reset trick. this is what I ship with.
cursor + gpt4: faster but hallucinates more. great for brainstorming and getting unstuck but I don't trust the code for production.
copilot: good at autocomplete but bad at generating whole features. feels like it's designed to speed up typing not replace it. fine if you already know what you're doing but doesn't help when you're stuck.
claude web interface: surprisingly good actually. slower than cursor but the quality is consistent. I use this for architectural decisions before moving to cursor for implementation.
the thing that surprised me: none of them are good at the whole lifecycle. cursor is best for implementation but claude web is better for planning. copilot is good for boilerplate but bad at complex logic.
I ended up with a workflow. claude web for architecture, then cursor + claude for implementation, then copilot for boilerplate. sounds complicated but its actually faster than trying to force one tool to do everything
anyone else mixing tools like this or are you all in on one
