High blood pressure and meds

Friends, I think I've been having blood pressure episodes. I have been very stressed. My ritalin is new, was supposed to help with the stress, and it does quite a lot. But at night especially (not directly tied to my ritalin rhythm or how much I tale that day) I am experiencing racing heart and I finally measured my blood pressure and it was over 140. I think this is why ive been so tense and exhausted and feeling so bad.

If the hypertension doesnt follow a clear pattern after my ritalin dose, can it still be ritalin related? Or i this a stress response?

Anyone with more ritalin and blood pressure experience who can give me tips about what to watch, what to measure, what to talk to the doctor about?
