Ell'Hakkan conclusion
Going to spoiler tag the entire thing, but so after reading the Ell'Hakan fight, I can't help but think that the entire second phase of the fight completely invalidated the first half of the fight, and I'm sure the story would have been better without it.
In the first phase, Jake makes one bad mistake, letting Ell'Hakan get to planet surface, but once there he did a genuinely smart thing to trick him to win in a very close fight, Then phase 2 happens, when he's massively grown in power, and a weakened Jake exhausted from winning the fight still manages to wins, it pretty much means he should have wiped the floor with him before then.
I'm not even arguing that "less is more" because Phase 1 of that fight was a few chapters (I believe) and was extensive. I think there was a way to get to the same end result without having the Celestial Child phase of the fight. Just make him turn into that at the beginning if you want to, then conclude it the same way the initial fight happened and you get the same result.
Of all the fights across all the novels, it's the only one that really bothered me.
