New to the 3DS scene

Hey 3DS!

I currently have a PSP-1000 from Japan (MGS) and wanted to expand my portable collection.

I heard nothing but good things about the 3DS so I’m looking at some rare 3DS’s. Will the Japanese-release consoles work in the US? I do plan on eventually modding them but I saw this super dope DBZ 3DS that I wanted to pick up on eBay.
