Just completed almost 1800 km across Leh–Ladakh with my girlfriend in our Skoda KYLAQ, and honestly, the car surprised me in many ways.

Average mileage for the entire 7-day trip stayed around 15 km/l, which I feel is pretty decent considering the terrain, climbs, bad patches, traffic, and continuous mountain driving. One more thing — I was running on normal petrol the whole time because there was a shortage of octane fuel in many places. Petrol pumps were giving only limited fuel per car, so to stay on the safer side, I kept refueling roughly every 200 km whenever I got the chance.

Talking about comfort — I’m 6’2”, and earlier I had mentioned that sometimes the driver seat felt a bit uncomfortable on longer drives. But during this trip I realized something: if I find the right seating position and avoid constantly adjusting it, the fatigue almost disappears. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel exhausted even after long driving stretches, which made this journey much smoother than expected.

Overall, the KYLAQ handled the trip beautifully. Great stability, confidence on highways and mountain roads, decent fuel efficiency, and a comfortable experience once I figured out my ideal driving posture.

A memorable 7-day road trip for sure. Leh–Ladakh with your partner and your own car just feels different ❤️

Leh tested the roads. The KYLAQ proved itself.
