🚨 NEED URGENT IMMIGRATION EXPERT / SPECIALIST HELP! 🚨
Hey guys, I’ve hit a massive bureaucratic roadblock with my Austrian Student Residence Permit application from a Third-Country National state and desperately need advice from anyone who knows international visa laws!
The Issue:
My sponsor lives in the UK. She has drafted three critical financial documents:
1 The Affidavit of Support
2 The Declaration of Liability
3 The Declaration of Origin of Funds
The Roadblock:
I emailed the Magistrate in Austria to ask if they will accept these documents if they are notarized in the UK and Apostilled by the UK government (FCDO).
They replied with a riddle: “An apostille is only accepted by the Austrian representative authority in which the application is lodged.” Because I am physically submitting my visa application at the Austrian Embassy in my home country, they want the verification tied here.
The Legal Catch:
International law dictates that local authorities in my home country cannot legalize or touch documents signed by a UK citizen in the UK. Only the UK government can Apostille them.
My Question for the Experts:
If you've used an overseas sponsor while applying as a Third-Country National: How do we bypass this loop? Did your sponsor just get a standard UK Apostille and the local Austrian Embassy accepted it? Or did it have to be legalized by the Austrian Embassy in London first?
Please drop me a message if you can help me untangle this. Thanks a million! 🙏
