Looking for advice with an awkward situation - medical related
Hledám radu ohledně své zdravotní situace jako český občan, který nemluví česky.
Hi everyone,
I’m a Czech citizen living in Brno, but I grew up abroad and unfortunately don’t speak Czech (american father/czech mother, not important but figured Id add some context there.)
I’m honestly getting pretty desperate trying to find medical care here. I’ve already had around 10 failed attempts to find a GP since moving here 3 weeks ago. Maybe this js all a timeframe issue, I dont know =/
So far, every time I finally get an appointment scheduled (website says english patients are okay, so I am assuming its a not taking new patients situation), a nurse or admin staff calls me and cancels a few days beforehand. Today the nurse called me 3 days before the appointment that I scheduled May 1st to say they won’t take me after all. I tried the moje ambulance service but they told me their doctors dont take english patients.
I also urgently need to find a psychiatrist for continuity of care, as well as a physical therapist/rehab doctor for radial nerve palsy.
At this point I honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do anymore.
I know its my own fault and I dont blame the doctors for not being able to see me given my language skills - I am just hoping someone might point me in a better direction.
If anyone has recommendations for places that are okay with English-speaking patients and are accepting new patients, I’d be incredibly grateful. As far as insurance goes, I have VZP.
Sorry for such a long post.
