How powerful of a restriction would sacrificing your arms be?

Given all of the crazy hxh abilities and restrictions there are, do you think there could be an interesting Hatsu if the user severed their own arms as a condition, for the ability to conjure nen-arms with special abilities?

Presumably, this restriction would allow these arms to have greater access to other categories of nen, similar to how Kurapika trades lifespan for access to all nen categories with emperor time

I'm imagining someone who can use powerful enhancement, emission, or more interestingly, transmutation abilities with these arms that may not be possible for someone with normal arms.

Powerful energy blasts for attacks or movement (like Genos from OPM) , super powerful blocking/punching (hardening), or whip/blade arms, grappling hook arms etc.

Is this a viable Hatsu? Would there need to be further restrictions to extract a useful amount of power from this? Or are there holes you guys can imagine would make this unrealistic?
