This is one of those posts where you have to watch it twice to see if you heard everything correctly. Sometimes I have to wonder if some things I see on TikTok are satire or just rage bait but she was genuinely arguing with every single comment on her video, which makes me believe that she’s serious. She also went on to make 2 more videos about it, still sounding serious.

I get that Overwatch doesn’t always have a great community, but this is just reaching. One of her arguments in the comments when someone said that soldier is less annoying because his auto aim is an ult and Sierra’s is just a cool down, was “you can approach them in the same way so it doesn’t matter.” But she’s not really getting the point that Sierra having another hero’s strongest ability as a cool-down is pretty bad.

I don’t think she’s stupidly overpowered, but I think her lock-on should do a lot less damage or have worse tracking than soldier’s, but the main issue is the fact that there are people (maybe just this person) that are blaming the hate on their main on racism. As a black person myself, I can confidently tell you that Sierra is disliked for a valid reason.

For example, her cool down is the same as another hero’s ult. You could say the same for hanzo and widow, but that’s not really a strong ult anyway and hanzo’s is a smaller version. Sierra’s is the exact same, but she just has to hit you with a torpedo first. Also her lore isn’t too great, like she’s supposed to be a rock climber but that has nothing to do with her kit at all. And then, instead of giving her maybe a wall climb or just anything to do with her as a character, they decided to give her auto aim?

Other than her being the first African American hero added to the game, she doesn’t really add much in terms of positive changes. I don’t think she’s at a stage where she’s a problem, I just don’t think she deserves any praise, and especially doesn’t really need to be defended at all. I feel like you can’t argue against the fact that Sierra having another hero’s ult in her back pocket is a bad thing.

Anyway this was a little bit of a rant and I may have fallen for the rage bait, but this was something I had to talk about somewhere because of how dumb it sounds to me. However, I am curious on other people’s thoughts about it all. Maybe I just interpreted it wrong (I hope I did…).

Apparently Sierra hate = racism
