I wanted a tiny desk aquarium that had the soul of an old terminal screensaver, the practicality of a little embedded project, and the maintenance schedule of a rock. The result is this small 2.8" CYD powered ASCII aquarium that can sit on a desk, shelf, printer enclosure, or anywhere else that needs more bubbles and fewer responsibilities.

It is part clock, part screensaver, part tiny art object.

[Web Flasher is here](https://power-pill.github.io/ASCII-Aquarium/) and the [Github page is here](https://github.com/POWER-PILL/ASCII-Aquarium) if anyone wants to take this project and run with it. If you want a case, [I have a simple one available here ](https://makerworld.com/en/models/2835243)(it also includes an option for a 50mm beam splitter display cube) but [this one is much nicer](https://makerworld.com/en/models/2787810), though it requires some additional hardware to put it together.

Here's a short list of some of the features:

* Tap-to-feed flakes: touch the tank to drop food and watch nearby fish chase it down.
* Animated bubbles and seaweed, with adjustable seaweed sway, length, and randomness.
* Visiting octopus and seahorse characters that drift through the tank, with selectable spawn rates from 1 to 60 times per hour.
* Optional on-screen clock with manual time or internet time.
* 12-hour and 24-hour formats, timezone selection, small top/bottom clock, large ASCII clock style, and clock colour picker.
* Wi-Fi panel with network scan, saved credentials, on-screen password keyboard, reconnect handling, and NTP time sync.
* Persistent settings via ESP32 Preferences.

Hope you like it! This is the first project like this that i've ever made! If you have any suggestions let me know! Thanks ><(((º>
