Hi,
Currently in a Operations Manager role within the logistics industry and have allot of responsibility. Started as an apprentice 10 years ago and have been with the same company ever since. As you can imagine, as I have stayed at the same company my pay has not significantly increased. I am trying to continue to climb the ladder as I am still young (Late 20's) but I do not see myself getting a promotion in the next 4/5 years.
My station has lost allot of money in the past year and I am having meetings to discuss a potential site closure or potentially downsizing to another location to cut back on costs. I strongly believe I will not be made redundant and instead will be offered a remote role.
I have received a job offer which is a 12K pay increase. However, its a supervisory role with a competitor at a significantly smaller site and much smaller team. Also, the team I will be supervising is a very niche section of logistics. I have looked for other Operation Manager roles for a while and they are few and far between.
If I took this new role, how would it look to go from Operations Manager back down to a Supervisor?
Current Role - Ops Manager
5 Minute commute (Can spend my lunches at home)
Market leading company
Flexible working
Large variety of operations and projects
Limited higher roles within the organisation
New Role - Supervisor
30/50 Minute commute depending on traffic
Small Upcoming company
No flexible working
Very Niche
+12k
Potential higher roles within the organisation
